love it :)

AetherNG responds:

love you :)

Nicely done, i havent heard the orginal so i dont how accurate it is but it does sound good. Did you make this in a tracker?

EliteFerrex responds:

This track is made via by-ear composition in FL Studio 10, using magical8bit and FamiSynth II for the 8-bit SFX.

Sounds cool man, this kind of frantic sounding track would really suit a party game/button basher sort of thing. Did you make the kick in magical 8-bit too?

Flaytic responds:

Yeah, the kick was made in magical8bitplug by simply using negative sweep stitch with considerably low sweep time.

I like the effects going on and the dark techy mood. One thing i noticed is that its quite empty sounding, You could remedy this by maybe layering up on your lead sounds a bit. The square wave lead can be effective but it also needs some garnish. Consider layering it with another wave form and perhaps have some modulation on the pitch (vibrato) might be a nice touch.
If you dont fancy that some nice warping bass sounds that fit around your kick and snare might do the trick. Overall good job.

SoTJake responds:

Yeah the lead was just a lead that i recycled from another, much simpler track, where the lead should sound pretty bold and simple. After your comment I experimented a bit with that lead and the endresult would have sounded similar but as you already stated, a bit more "filling". I, however, liked it more this way, so I think that is a thing of taste. But yeah, I think a bit more variety would help.

Not bad for a second track, keep at it buddy.

Thank you ;)

i like the effects going on and that gated stuff. the melody lines need some layering up imo. Anyways scouted you.

Flaytic responds:

Thanks! Yep, polyphonic stuff aren't really easy but I'll try my best in layering the stuff!

I really like this one mate, like that bass line. How did you go about creating your kick?

EliteFerrex responds:

My kick is a combination of two different 8-bit instruments with a negative sweep, at varying rates of sweep time.

I like the melodys, and although sounds a bit robotic i do like the sound of the acoustic guitar, nice and bright. Theres a couple things in the mix you should check out though, one being the level of the fx/big hits which tend to over power the mix when they come in. Two being the high frequency content which imo is a bit too loud, try referencing it on a laptop speakers and you will see. I like the instruments but for this length of song could of done with some melodic or structural variation in there.

EctiBot responds:

Glad you liked the track :).
I tried to turn down some of the overpowering frequencies of my hits, and i turned down some of the high fq content in the hats. Hope that it's better now.
Agree that there should be more melodic variation in this. I'll keep that in mind for next time :).

This is terribly distorted and ear killing. The melody itself is nice and would sound better with a soft piano and some reverb.

balancedbirds responds:

You're not the only one who say that.
I will try to reduce the music by the way that you describe.

Nice riffage going on there, what tuning is that? Good job, liked it.

LunyAlex responds:

Thanks a lot!

Tuning is Drop G! :D
